Aunt Phyl

is an episodic TV series creatively inspired by early television. The series follows Phyl, a working-class, queer girl from 1949 to 1970. Through the lens of television’s changing medium we follow Phyl’s defiance of social and sexual mores as well as her academic and professional successes -on her own terms. The series hangs on Phyl’s unconventional quest of that most beloved mid-century carrot: The American Dream.
