About Ms. Ainsworth
Shelli Ainsworth is a Minneapolis-based artist whose work in experimental theater, film, and the written page has earned her international recognition and a loyal following.
She has lived life as a pioneering artist with a strong feminist bent, bringing to life stories about seemingly inconspicuous female characters, injured men, and imposing children.
Her work is profoundly creative, unique, often funny, but with important notes for a society with serious challenges.
She is the past recipient of grants and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, ITVS, the Bush Foundation, the Jerome Foundation, and the McKnight Foundation. Ms. Ainsworth’s narrative films have been seen in festivals and museums in the United States and Europe. DAVINA’S PILL is her first and very small book.
